Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery Shatin Hongkong

The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery (萬佛寺) is a stunning Buddhist temple located in Sha Tin, Hong Kong.Despite its name, the monastery actually houses nearly 13,000 Buddha statues.It was founded in 1951 by the Venerable Yuet Kai and is known for its impressive collection of golden Buddha statues lining the path up the hill.

The journey to the monastery itself is quite an attraction, with over 430 steps and a steep climb. Along the way, you’ll be greeted by life-sized Buddha statues in various poses. Once you reach the top, you’ll find the main temple hall, which is adorned with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and a nine-storey pagoda offering beautiful views.
